Minor girl dies from snakebite in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) – A minor girl died from snakebite at Durgapur village under Maheshpur upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Mithila Khatun, 2, daughter of Mujahid Islam of Durgapur village.

A poisonous snake bit the girl when she was sleeping with her parents, family sources said.

The girl was admitted to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex. Later, the child died on the way to Jashore General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Maheshpur Police Station Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter and said the body was handed over to the family members.
