MANIKGANJ, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Ferry movement on the Paturia-Daulatdia river route on the Padma resumed from 7:20 am today (Sunday) after a 3.20-hour suspension for dense fog disruption, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat sources said.

BIWTC Paturia Ghat Assistant General Manager (AGM) Abdus Salam said the ferry movement between Paturia-Daulatdia was suspended at 4 am on Sunday because dense fog covered the river route, disrupting the visibility of ferry movement.

AGM Abdus Salam said at that time four ferries Hasna Hena, Khan Zahan Ali, Shahid Barkat and Kumilla were remaining at the Paturia Ghat with loaded vehicles and passengers. While three ferries Shah Mokdum, Shah Poran and Baiger were staying at Daulatdia Ghat loaded with vehicles and passengers and three ferries Shahid Motiur Rahman and Shah Enayetpuri were in the middle of the river Padma with full loading, the AGM added.

Lots of vehicles including passenger buses, trucks and other vehicles stranded at both ghats, the sources said.
