One killed, 9 injured in Ctg road accident

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS)- A bus helper was killed and nine others were 
injured when a speeding bus hit into the back of a covered van parked in 
Mirsarai upazila of the district today.
 
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-bound lane of the Dhaka-Chattogram highway 
in the Dakshin Sonapahar area of Zorarganj Union of the upazila this morning. 
 
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Murad, 25, son of Jamal Hossain of 
Harbang Muslimpara under Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar district.
 
All the victims are employed at ACI Foods in Dhaka. 

According to police and eyewitnesses, a bus of Saudia Paribahan (AC) 
traveling from Cox's Bazar collided with a covered van in the area, leaving 
its helper Murad dead and injuring nine others on the spot. 

The injured were rescued with the help of locals and initially taken to 
Mirsarai Upazila Health Complex. 

Of them, two were later shifted to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital 
(CMCH) as their condition deteriorated while the others were treated at the 
health complex and deemed out of danger, Dr. Fahim Ferdous from Mirsarai 
Upazila Health Complex confirmed. 

Inspector of Zorarganj Highway Police Outpost Borhan Uddin stated that the 
covered van was stationary when the bus rear-ended it, leading to the 
accident. 

The process of handing over the deceased body to his family is currently 
underway, he added.
