Student killed in city road accident

DHAKA, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) - A student was killed when a passenger bus hit his bike on Jasimuddin Road in the city's Uttara area early today.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Arman Mirza, 21, son of Abu Sufian Mirza. He was an HSC-passed student of Nawab Habibullah College in Uttara and a resident of Purba Hatiala village under Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur district.

The accident occurred around 4 am when a speeding passenger bus hit Arman's motorcycle, leaving him critically injured.

According to police source, he was first taken to Kurmitola General Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was later shifted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he died while undergoing treatment around 6:30 am.

Inspector in-charge of DMCH Police Camp Mohammad Faruk confirmed the matter, adding that the body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
