NOAKHALI, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) - The Narcotics Control Department in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler with firearm, bullets and drugs from Begumganj upazila of the district last night.

A team of the department conducted a raid in the house of Faiz Ahamed, 30, at Nanupur village of Rajganj union of the upazila around 9.15 pm and arrested him with a pistol, four bullets and 36 pieces of yaba tablets, said Subrata Sarker Shuvo, Deputy Director of the District Narcotics Control Department this morning.

Faiz has been dealing drugs in the area for a long time. Recently, he collected an illegal pistol and 4 rounds of bullets to dominate the drug business in the area. 

Subrata Sarkar Shuvo, Deputy Director of Noakhali Narcotics Control Department, further said that two separate cases have been filed against him at Begumganj Police Station under the Arms and Narcotics Control Act. 

He was handed over to the judicial court today.
