Govt distributes seeds, fertilizers among 7,300 farmers in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) – The government has taken programme to distribute seeds and fertlizers among 7,300 small and marginal farmers in Muradnagar upazila of the district for cultivating Robi crops during the current season.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdur Rahman inaugurated the programme on the premises of the upazila parishad this morning at the initiative of the Upazila Administration and Department of Agricultural Extension to increase crop production. 

Upazila Agriculture Officer Pavel Khan Pappu presided over the function.

Fertilizers and seeds of wheat, mustard, sunflower, peanut, peas and boro ufsi crops are being distributed under this agricultural incentive among the farmers.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdur Rahman said, “The government is working tirelessly to develop farmers and increase crop production. The incentive is not just a support, it is a reflection of the government’s commitment to farmers. We want every farmer to get good yields on his land, and take agriculture as a prestigious profession.” 

Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Nur Alam, Upazila Agricultural Deputy Assistant Officer Mosharraf Hossain, Md. Sufi Ahmed, Ekhlasur Rahman and more than a hundred farmers from different unions were present.
