Man killed in Bagerhat accident

BAGERHAT, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) – A man was killed after a bus hit him in front of the regional passport office on the Khulna-Bagerhat highway here this morning.

The deceased was identified as Md. Shamim Talukder, 30, son of Moti Talukder of Kadamtala village in Sharankhola upazila.

Quoting locals, police said that when Shamim was going to the city on a motorcycle, a bus coming from Dhaka hit his bike from behind around 11:30 am, leaving him critically injured.

He was taken to Bagerhat 250-Bed Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Bagerhat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mahmud-ul Hasan said they seized the bus, but its driver and his assistants fled the scene.
