2 held with 500gm heroin in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 500 grams of heroin in Kuthipara village under Godagari upazila in the district today.

The arrestees were identified as Golam Mostofa, 46, son of late Habibur Rahman, and Abdur Rashid, 40, son of late Noman Ali, both hailing from Bokchar village under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.

According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 11:30 am, arrested the duo, and recovered the contraband item from their possession.

Rafiqul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police, told BSS that the arrestees had been involved in drug trading and trafficking for a long time.

A case was filed with Godagari Model Police Station in this connection, he added.
