3 killed in Narsingdi road accident

NARASINGDI, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - Three people were killed on Thursday night when a passenger bus hit an auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Madhabdi upazila of the district.

The accident took place around 11:30 pm in the Rainadi area, Police said.

The deceased were identified as Siam Mia ,22, son of Azizul Islam, Sabbir Hossain ,28, son of Altaf Hossain, and auto-rickshaw driver Fahim Mia,30, son of Robiul Islam-all residents of Rainadi village under Nuralapur Union in Sadar upazila.

Relatives said the victims were returning home from Madhabdi when a Sylhet-bound bus hit their auto-rickshaw, leaving them critically injured.

Itakhola Highway OC Monir Hossain, two died on the spot; the third succumbed on route to the hospital.

Police recovered the bodies and impounded the bus, though its driver and assistant fled, OC added.
