DoE shuts 3 illegal factories in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Oct 29, 2025 (BSS) - The Department of Environment (DoE) has completely shut down the operations of three illegal factories in Narsingdi due to their role as environmental polluters. 

During the operation, the DoE disconnected the electricity and gas supply to these establishments.

The enforcement action was carried out today, beginning at 10am which was led by Executive Magistrate Ashik Ahmed. The targeted factories were located within Narsingdi Sadar Upazila and Madhabdi Police Station areas.

The DoE has completely stopped the operation of Jiangsu Jinding Storage Co. Ltd. (Lead Preparation from Batteries) located in Anandi, Madhabdi. Its electricity connection was severed, and the meter was handed over to Palli Bidyut Samiti-1. 

The operation of M/s Ali Fabrics and Dyeing Factory, located in the Birampur Kalibari area, has also been stopped by cutting both its gas and electricity supplies. The gas regulator was handed over to Titas Gas Company, and the electricity meter was given to Palli Bidyut Samiti-1. 

Abdullah Dyeing Industries Limited, situated in South Shilmandhi, Panchdona area, was also closed after its gas and electricity connections were cut.

Various supporting agencies were present and cooperated during the operation, including members of the District Police, a patrol team from RAB-11, the Titas Gas Company, and representatives from Narsingdi Palli Bidyut Samiti-1 and 2.

The Department of Environment has stated that such operations against illegal factories causing environmental pollution will continue.
