Tin, cash distributed among fire-affected families in Madaripur

MADARIPUR, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Shibchar Upazila administration has distributed corrugated tin sheets and cash assistance among fire victim families in the upazila of the district.

The distribution ceremony was held at around 2:00 pm on Thursday at the Shibchar Upazila Parishad premises under the initiative of the Disaster Management Department and the upazila administration.

Deputy Commissioner Afsana Bilkis attended the event as the chief guest and handed over the relief materials to the victims. 

Each affected family received three bundles of corrugated tin and Taka 9,000 in cash for reconstructing their homes.

In addition, the Upazila Social Services Department distributed two cows to two distressed individuals during the same programme. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Afsana Bilkis said, “These gifts will benefit the affected people. The government is always by the side of the helpless and will continue to stand with them in the future.”

Among others, Shibchar Upazila Nirbahi Officer HM Ibne Mizan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shaikha Sultana, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Abid Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Police Station Md. Rakibul Islam, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Billal Hossain, and Upazila Social Service Officer Sourav Reza Sihab were present.
