GAIBANDHA, NOV 4, 2025 (BSS)- A woman was crushed to death under the wheels of a running train at Shahbaz area between Bamondanga and Chowdhurani rail station of the district yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

The deceased is identified as Tohomina Begum, wife of Abdul Kader of the area.
 
Police said the woman jumped under the wheels of a Santahar-bound down train when it came to the area from Lalmonirhat in the afternoon, leaving her dead on the spot. 

Upon receiving information, the Bonarpara railway police from the outpost rushed to the scene and recovered the body, and then handed over the body to the close relatives at night after maintaining legal procedures. 

In charge of police outpost of the Gaibandha railway station, sub-inspector Goni Miah said an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
