JHENAIDAH, Nov 04, 2025 (BSS) - Two students from Al Qalam Hifz Madrasa in the district have completed ‘Quran Hifz’ in record time and earned to perform the holy Umrah pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The two talented students  -  - Mia Mohammad Mostafa (11) and Tanvir Mahmud Ifad (11)  - - memorized the entire Holy Quran (Hifz) in exceptionally short periods—just 10 months and 16 months, respectively.

The institution recognized this outstanding achievement by rewarding them with a trip to perform the holy Umrah.

The achievements were celebrated today at a special ceremony organized by the Al Qalam Hifz Madrasa in Jhenaidah town.

Mia Mohammad Mostafa, who is a resident of Upshahar Para, Sreerampur Union, Magura, completed the entire memorization of the Quran in just 10 months and 18 days.

His father, Mia Mohammad Hasan Zakir, is a businessman. Mostafa was admitted to the Madrasa in May of the previous year but took a four-month break due to illness before completing the Hifz.

The other student, Tanvir Mahmud Ifad, son of K.M. Titu from Lakshikol village in Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila, completed his memorization in just 16 months at the same Madrasa.

The ceremony saw a total of five Hifz students honored and presented with certificates. The event was graced by the presence of high-ranking officials.

Deputy Commissioner of the Jhenaidah district Mohammad Abdul Awal attended the function as the chief guest while Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Rezaul Karim and Chairman of Al Qalam Foundation Shaykh Muhammad Saidur Rahman were present on the occasion.

Speakers at the discussion noted that completing the Hifz of the entire Quran in such a short time is a very difficult and rare achievement.

They expressed hope that the dedication and focus displayed by these two students will serve as an inspiration for others.
