RCC launches education stipend for poor, talented students

RAJSHAHI, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched an education stipend for poor and talented students aimed at supporting their studies.

The RCC handed over stipend cheques to five students at the conference hall of the Divisional Commissioner's Office here on Sunday afternoon.

Each university-level student received Taka 10,000, college-level students Taka 7,000, high school-level students Taka 5,000, and primary-level students Taka 3,000. The financial grants will be provided every three months.

The recipients are: Samiul Haque, a third-year student of the Department of Geology and Mining, and Khatiza Khatun, a first-year student of the Department of Folklore and Social Development Studies, both at Rajshahi University; Tamalika Akther Mou from Rajshahi City College; Mohima Khatun from Rajshahi Government Women's College; and Saleh Uddin from Rajshahi New Government Degree College.

Divisional Commissioner and RCC Administrator Khondoker Azim Ahmed distributed the cheques. Additional Commissioners Rezaul Alam Sarker, Habibur Rahman, Dr Chitralekha Naznin, and RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim were also present.
