CHATTOGRAM, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) - RAB-7 have arrested an accused in a murder case, who had been absconding for last 30 years, from Chattogram University Gate No.1 area under Hathazari upazila of the district on Saturday night. 

The arrested person Kamal Uddin , 48 , is the son of Saleh Ahmad of Briaghona area of the upazila and was implicated in a murder case lodged in 1996 with Hathazari police . Though arrest warrant was issued against Kamal, he had been on the run in the last 30 years.
  
Based on secret information, a RAB team caught Kamal Uddin last night and handed him to police for further legal action, Assistant Director of RAB-7 A R M Mozaffar Hossain said.
