Nearly 14,000 liters of illegally hoarded Diesel seized in Narayanganj

DHAKA,   April 1, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court has seized 13,980 liters of illegally hoarded diesel during an operation in Narayanganj.

The diesel was confiscated during separate operations conducted overnight in various areas of the district. During the operations, the mobile court imposed fines and varying terms of imprisonment on the individuals involved, according to a press release of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.

The press release said that the first operation was conducted around 6:00 PM yesterday in the Godnail area of Siddhirganj, near the Eidgah adjacent to the Meghna Depot, based on secret information. 

During the operation, 9,100 liters of illegally hoarded diesel were seized. In this case, the hoarder, Sifat, was fined Tk 6,000 and he was sentenced to two months of imprisonment without labor.

In another operation, a raid was conducted on a house on S.A. Road adjacent to the Meghna Depot in Godnail, where an additional 4,880 liters of diesel were recovered. In this incident, the accused Nasir was fined Tk 3,000 and sentenced to one month of simple imprisonment.
