SYLHET, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will hold its 191st public hearing tomorrow at the Kabi Nazrul Auditorium here in the city's Rikabibazar area.

With the slogan "Youth united against corruption will build a purified future", the ACC's Sylhet Integrated District Office has organized the hearing to raise public awareness, enhance service quality in government and autonomous offices and agencies, prevent harassment of service recipients, and strengthen efforts to curb corruption.

ACC Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen will attend the programme as the chief guest, while Commissioner (Investigation) Miah Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi and Secretary Mohammad Khaled Rahim will be present as special guests, said a press release.

At the hearing, aggrieved citizens who faced harassment or were deprived of services in various government offices will place their complaints before the Commission in the presence of the heads of all district-level government departments.

The ACC will also take immediate decisions on the complaints raised by the deprived service seekers.

The main objective of the public hearing is to ensure access to government services and to eradicate corruption from the country by enhancing the integrity, dedication, accountability, and values of government officials and employees.

To ensure spontaneous public participation, the ACC has carried out extensive publicity across the district over the past week through miking, posters, leaflet distribution, complaint collection booths, complaint boxes, and announcements in different media outlets. The initiative has received a strong public response.

All citizens of Sylhet who are vocal against corruption, as well as journalists from electronic and print media, have been requested to attend the hearing to make the event a success.
