MEHERPUR, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS) -Joint force members arrested a man with a foreign-made pistol, a magazine and five rounds of bullets from Mujibnagar upazila of the district early this morning.

The arrested person was identified as Nahid Hasan Raju, 29.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint force team conducted a raid at Raju's house in Rashikpur village around 3 am and arrested him. The firearm and ammunition were recovered from his bedroom during the search, said Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Mujibnagar Police Station.

A case has been filed in this connection. He will be produced before the court and sent to the district jail, the OC added.
