
RANGPUR, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court jointly conducted by the district administration, Department of Environment and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 on Wednesday evening fined two brick kilns a total of Taka 1.50 lakh during separate daylong drives in Nababganj upazila of Dinajpur district.
According to a press release issued this evening by RAB-13, the mobile court also seized a truck from one brick kiln and demolished the chimney of another for violating environmental and operational regulations.
Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Nababganj upazila Md Muntaseer Mahfuz led the drive, assisted by police, RAB-13 officials and representatives of the Department of Environment.
The operation was carried out following reports of excessive use of sulfur and coal containing ash and mercury, as well as the establishment of unlicensed brick kilns in different areas of the district.
The mobile court fined Md Masum, owner of MM Bricks Company in Haripur Khalishagari area, Taka 50,000 for using soil without permission and using coal containing sulfur and mercury beyond the permissible limit.
Another brick kiln owner, Md Mithu of ASM Bricks in Haripur Khalishagari village, was fined Taka 1,00,000 for similar violations.
Additionally, the court seized a Mahindra truck belonging to AB Brick Kiln and demolished the chimney of MMB Brick Kiln due to the absence of valid documents and licenses, the release added.
