CHATTOGRAM, (South), Dec 5, 2025 (BSS) - A bank official identified as Md Nayan, 27, was killed in a road accident in Patiya upazila here this morning while injuring his friend Robin, 25, police and hospital sources said.

The accident took place around 5:30 am today at Fakira Mosque area of Jiri Union of the upazila as they were returning home after visiting the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif shrine, police and witnesses said.

A hospital source said the deceased was an official of the Islami Bank and he died on the spot when the speeding motorbike lost its control over the wheel and hit the roadside tree in the aforesaid time.

In addition, the seriously wounded Robin, son of Mujibur Rahman, a resident of Ward No. 7 of Ashiya Union, has been admitted to Patiya Private Hospital Severn, the sources added.
