Two held in Ctg over tea vendor killing

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - Members of RAB-7 have detained two persons in connection with the killing of a small tea vendor in the city's Laittaghata area under Kotowali thana on Saturday night.

The arrested individuals were identified as Rubel Boiddya, 31, and Raju Nath, 38.

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) A R M Mozaffar Hossain said that acting on a tip-off, a RAB team nabbed Rubel and Raju from the area along with two knives and a motorbike. The detainees were later handed over to police for further legal action.

The victim, Ismail Hossain, a small tea vendor in the Court Road area, was chopped to death by a group of miscreants while he was returning home around midnight on November 28.

Following the incident, the victim's wife filed a case with Kotowali Police Station.
