Woman killed in Jhalakathi road crash

JHALAKATHI, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed and her husband injured when a trolley hit their motorbike in Lakshman Kathi area under Nalchiti upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Lima Akhter, 30, wife of Raju Mallik, a businessman of Iswar Kathi area of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 10 am on the Barisal-Jhalakathi highway when a trolley hit a motorcycle from behind, leaving its both riders seriously injured.

The injured were taken to Jhalakati Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared Lima dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalchiti Police Station Ariful Alam confirmed the matter.
