Inqilab Moncho's sit-in demanding justice for Hadi's murder in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) - Inquilab Moncho's Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) unit and student leaders have staged a sit-in programme here demanding justice for the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, a frontline fighter of the July uprising.
 
The Inqilab Moncho leaders and activists and ordinary students took a stand at Shaheed Hadi Square (formerly known as the DC intersection) in Rangpur metropolis at 3 pm on Sunday.
 
The participating student leaders from the programme demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the murder of Hadi, including the mastermind. 
 
At that time, the protesters raised various slogans including 'Justice, justice, justice - we want justice for Hadi's murder', 'Who are you, who am I? - Hadi Hadi', 'We will all become Hadi - we will speak in the faces of bullets'.... 
 
BRUR unit Inqilab Moncho convener Zahid Hasan Joy, former Rangpur metropolitan member-secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Md Rahmat Ali, former spokesperson Khandaker Nahid Hasan, convener of Rangpur metropolitan Jatiya Chhatra Shakti Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, its member -secretary Hazim ul Haque, joint member-secretary Farhan Tanbir Fahim, organiser Mahbub Hasan Tanmoy, Shimanto Islam, among others, addressed the programme. 
 
The sit-in programme has been arranged in protest against the assassination of the Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, an aspiring candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Polls. 
 
Meanwhile, the Inquilab Mancha, although, had previously announced blockade programmes in divisional cities across the country, the protesters in Rangpur took up positions at the Hadi Square instead of blocking roads to ease public suffering.
