RAJSHAHI, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) – Local units of BNP and its front organizations here today mourned the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
 
The demise of Begum Zia cast a pall of mourning across the city and the district among party leaders and workers as well as all strata of people.
 
Since this morning, leaders and workers have been crowding the BNP party office at Malopara area in the city.
 
Many people came to the office and broke down in tears after looking at the party Chairpersons’ photograph.
 
Recitation of the holy Quran was held there in the morning and a milad mahfil was organized in the afternoon.

City BNP President Mamun Ar Rashid, Senior Vice Presidents Nazrul Huda and Aslam Sarker, General Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Roton and district BNP President Raihanul Alam Raihan and others were present at the milad and doa mahfil, held seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia.
 
In addition, BNP leaders organised recitation of the holy Quran and prayers at mosques, other places of worship and orphanages at various ward, union, municipality and upazila levels seeking special prayer for eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia.
