3 held with ganja, Eskuf in Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, Jan 8, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -13 in separate raids seized 3.5 kg of ganja and 344 bottles of phensedyl-type drug Eskuf and arrested three alleged drug peddlers from Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat districts on Wednesday. 
 
On a tip-off, a team of RAB-13 from Gaibandha Camp in a raid seized 3.5 kg of ganja and arrested two persons from the Gaibandha-Sundarganj road under Sadar upazila in Gaibandha district at 11 am on Wednesday, a press release said. 

The arrestees are Md Selim Mia, 46, son of Md Salim Uddin of village Fulgach under Sadar police station of Lalmonirhat district and Abu Taher, 26, son of late Alam Mia of village Kholahati (Faraji Para) under Sadar upazila of Gaibandha district.

In another raid, another team of RAB-13 from Rangpur seized 344 bottles of phensedyl-type narcotic drug Eskuf and arrested a man from Lotabor Kadamtala village under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat at 3 pm on Wednesday. 
 
The detainee is Md Akimul Islam Apel, 32, son of Mohir Uddin of village Chandrapur Bazar Kaliganj police station in Lalmonirhat district.

After filing two separate cases in these incidents, the elite force handed over the arrested persons and seized evidence to the concerned police stations for further action, the release added.
