Notorious terrorist held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS)- The Detective Branch (DB) of Chattogram 
Metropolitan Police (CMP), in a drive, has arrested a notorious terrorist 
from Mahbub Commissioner's house in Faridar Para under Chandgaon police 
station of the district. 

The arrested was identified as Idris, 27, who resides in Palawan Para, 
Noapara Patherhat area of Raozan Police Station but he was at his rented 
house in Faridar Para while police conducted the drive in the area. 

The CMP Public Relations Department released this information on Saturday 
afternoon. 

Idris, also known as Ibrahim, has been engaged in criminal activities such as 
robberies and snatching using firearms in various parts of the city for a 
significant period. 

He had multiple arrest warrants and was involved in cases related to arms and 
drugs. Despite this, he continued his criminal activities, causing fear in 
the area. 

Acting on a tip-off, team-3 of the DB (North) Division conducted a raid on 
January 9 around 11:30 pm on the road near Mahbub Commissioner's house in 
Faridar Para and nabbed him. 

Later, he was handed over to Chandgaon Police Station following the necessary 
legal procedures.
