Drug peddler held with yaba tablets in Khulna

KHULNA, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a top drug peddler along with 500 pieces of yaba tablets from Fultala upazila under Fultala Police Station in Khulna on Monday night, said a press release issued by Khulna Police Super (SP) Office.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Fultala Police Station conducted a special drive around 9.40 pm last night. 

During the operation, police arrested the accused in front of a makeshift hut (tong ghar) at a fish enclosure in Garakhola village under the Fultala Police Station.

The arrestee was identified as Md Wahidul Mohaldar, 40. Police recovered 500 yaba tablets from his possession.

During preliminary interrogation, police said Wahidul Mohaldar is a professional drug dealer. 

With the help of his associates, he used to collect yaba and other narcotics from different places, store them in his custody for sale, and sell them at convenient times.

In this connection, a regular case has been filed with Fultala Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act.

Legal proceedings against the arrested accused are currently underway, the press release added.
