KURIGRAM, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed and his son injured in a road 
accident at Taramon Bibi intersection of the district town here on Wednesday 
morning.

The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 58, son of Mohiruddin of 
Shyampur Dharla Par area under Jatrapur union in Sadar upazila of the 
district. 

According to police and eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when a truck 
coming from the opposite direction hit Nazrul Islam's motorcycle around 11:30 
am in the Dharla Bridge area as he along with his son travelling towards 
Kurigram town on the vehicle.

Nazrul Islam died on the spot and his son sustained serious injuries during 
the accident. The injured was sent to a local hospital.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Alam of Kurigram 
Sadar Police Station said police rushed to the spot immediately after 
receiving the information and recovered the body. "Necessary legal action 
will be taken following an investigation," he added.
