RANGPUR, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 has arrested an allegedly absconding inter-district robber accused in multiple robbery cases from the Asmatpur area under Palashbari Police Station of Gaibandha district.

The arrested person was identified as Md Rashedul Islam alias Asidul Rashed, 32, son of late Ashar Uddin Asir of village Asmatpur under Pirganj Police Station of Rangpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 from Gaibandha Camp apprehended the most wanted robber at 4:45 pm on Thursday, the press release said.

Multiple robbery cases have been filed against him, and arrest warrants were issued in six cases at Pirganj Police Station of Rangpur and Sadullapur Police Station of Gaibandha. 

The elite force has handed over the arrested person to Pirganj Police Station for further legal action, the release added.
