KHULNA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna police arrested two wanted criminals from different parts of the city within the past 24 hours.

A press release from Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Media Cell confirmed the matter today.

A joint team of the Detective Branch of KMP and Sonadanga Police Station apprehended Md Shamim, also known as Tunda Shamim, 35, from the Khulna Railway Station area at around 10:45 pm last night. 

Shamim was attempting to leave for Dhaka by the Sundarban Express train. Police said he is facing at least six cases, including murder, robbery, and illegal possession of arms.

In a separate operation, police arrested Abir Hasan, also known as Abujar, 27, from the Purbobania Khamar Lohargate area at around 11:30 am today. 

Abir, a close associate of Babualias Grenade Babu, is accused in 10 cases, including drug trafficking, extortion, and abduction.
