KHULNA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - Joint patrol operations were launched in Khulna
on Sunday afternoon to maintain law and order and ensure a free, fair, and
peaceful 13th National Parliamentary Election.

On the occasion, a joint drill was conducted with the participation of the
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Coast Guard and
police.

Briefing reporters ahead of the launch of the joint patrol at Shaheed Hadis
Park in the city, Khulna Additional Deputy Commissioner Nurul Haque Mohammad
Anas said the operations aim to restore public confidence so that voters can
cast their ballots without fear or obstruction.

He said the joint teams would take immediate action against any untoward
incident and ensure that no illegal arms are used.

If information about illegal weapons is received, drives will be conducted
promptly to recover them.

Giving an overview of the election preparations, he said 20 executive
magistrates are working across Khulna's six parliamentary constituencies.

In addition, a judicial inquiry committee has been formed to investigate any
complaints lodged by candidates, while a law and order cell has been set up
to maintain overall security during the election period.
