CHATTOGRAM, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - The 38th weekly tea sale of the season held 
here on Monday witnessed a moderate demand for different category. 

Market sources said well made good liquoring types continued to attract good 
competition and were well absorbed at firm to dearer rates. However, some end 
of season quality teas on offer met with a limited demand and witnessed heavy 
withdrawals. However, blenders once again operated in good strength for all 
varieties. Loose tea buyers operated selectively. Good liquoring Dusts were a 
strong feature of the sale. 

The category-wise sale report are excerpts as below : 

CTC LEAF: 46,608 packages of tea on offer met with a fairly strong demand.

BROKENS: Well made good liquoring Brokens were a good market and mostly sold 
at around last levels. Mediums were a good market and were mostly firm in 
line with quality. Plainer varieties met with a little less demand and 
witnessed more withdrawals. BLF teas continued to meet with a good demand and 
were fully firm over last.

FANNINGS: Well made good liquoring Fannings once again met with a strong 
market and were fully firm to slightly dearer. Medium types met with a good 
demand and sold at around last levels. BLF teas continued to meet with a good 
demand and were fully firm over last.

DUST: 10,590 packages of tea on offer met with a good demand. Select few well 
made good liquoring teas met with good competition and fetched attractive 
price. Other good liquoring teas and Medium teas also sold well at around 
last levels. Plain/BLF Dusts were an easier market with fair withdrawals. 
Blenders lent strong support with fair interest from the loose tea buyers.

According to sale report, on average 71.69% of total offerings were absorbed 
this week's sale in compared to 83.04% of previous week's sale.
