2 drug dealers held with ganja in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in an anti-drug drive arrested two alleged drug dealers with 29 kg of ganja from the Medical area under Rangpur Metropolitan police station of the city this morning. 

The detainees were identified as Md Md Nur Alam Siddique, 44, son of Md Yakub Ali of village Uttar Laksmipur Mondalpara under Taraganj police station and Meraz, 26, son of Md Zahedul Islam of village Rampura under Kotwali Metropolitan police station in Rangpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 searched a passenger bus in the Medical Mour area around  7 am and seized 29 kg of ganja, a press release said.

After filing a case against the arrested drug dealers under the Narcotics Control Act, the elite force handed over them along with the seized ganja to Kotwali Metropolitan police station, the release added.
