DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today ordered to seize income tax records of assistant superintendant of police (ASP) Ziaur Rahman, who is currently on post-retirement leave (PRL).

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the application, the ACC filed a case against Ziaur Rahman for allegedly acquiring and possessing assets worth Taka 4.02 crore beyond his known sources of income, concealing information on assets worth Taka 1.30 crore, and carrying out suspicious transactions through multiple bank accounts.

“As he is an income tax payer, it is necessary to seize all relevant original income tax records, including the permanent and miscellaneous sections of his tax files from the beginning up to the 2024–25 tax year, for a proper investigation of the case,” the ACC plea added.
