KHULNA, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two accused in separate rape cases during overnight drives in Khulna.

In the first operation, a RAB-6 special company team arrested Sohel, 32, the prime accused of a sensational gang rape case filed with Turag Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, from under the Rupsha Bridge in Labanchara area around 11.30 pm on January 29.

In another drive at about 2.10 am on January 30, RAB-6 arrested Md Mokammel Haque Tipu, a life-term convicted and warrant-listed convict in a rape case of Mirpur Model Police Station, from Khorshed Nagar area of Sonadanga in the city.

The arrested gang rape case accused was handed over to Rupsha Police Station, while the life-term convicted rape case accused was sent to Sonadanga Model Police Station for further legal proceedings.
