JU Philosophy alumni association holds reunion

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) Philosophy Alumni Association organized a reunion programme today on the university campus, bringing together former and current students in a day of celebration.

JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan inaugurated the programme by releasing colourful balloons near the New Arts Building at 10:00 am.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Philosophy Department Professor Dr Md Munir Hossain Talukder, President of the JU Philosophy Alumni Association Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, General Secretary Motlubar Rahman Rasel, along with alumni, faculty members, and students of the department.

The day-long programme included a range of activities such as a colourful rally, seminar, sports competitions, cultural performances, reminiscence sessions, an honouring ceremony, and a concert, with enthusiastic participation from alumni, students, and invited guests.

Breakfast and gift distribution were arranged at the department, while sports events for children, as well as male and female participants, were held beside the Central Field.

A seminar focusing on academic development and alumni engagement was also conducted at the department.

Later in the day, alumni joined informal gatherings, cultural programmes, a laser show, and an honouring ceremony at the Muktamancha. The reunion concluded with a concert, bringing the celebrations to a close.
