Imam Parishad in Khulna calls for 'Yes' vote in referendum

KHULNA, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS) - The Khulna District Imam Parishad on Friday 
urged voters to cast their votes in favour of 'Yes' in the referendum to be 
held alongside the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.

The call was made at an emergency meeting held at Dakbangla Jame Mosque in 
the city, chaired by its president Md Saleh and conducted by general 
secretary Md Golam Kibria.

Speakers said people from all walks of life, irrespective of political 
affiliation, should support the 'Yes' vote to ensure the development of the 
Bengali nation, protect independence and sovereignty, and free the country 
from all forms of domination.

They also announced that the Imam Parishad would undertake programmes across 
Khulna district to motivate worshippers to vote in favour of 'Yes', with 
mosque imams and khatibs playing a key role.

Among others, Principal F M Nazmus Saud, Rafiqul Islam, Mushfiqur Rahman, 
Anwarul Azam, Jihadul Islam, Shafiqul Islam, Abdullah Al Mamun, Mufti 
Ahmadullah, Principal Ajihur Rahman, Habibullah Belali, Mufti Faisal Ahmed 
and Ansar Uddin were present at the meeting.
