Three held with 15.6-kg ganja in Kurigram

RANGPUR, Jan 31, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested three alleged drug dealers with 15.6 kgs of ganja from the Matikata Mour area under Chilmari police station of Kurigram district in the early hours of today. 
 
On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13’s Crime Prevention Specialised Company in an anti-drug drive searched a truck and seized 15.6 kgs of ganja and arrested the alleged drug dealers from the spot at 2:50 am, a press release said.
 
The detainees were identified as Md Ismail Hossain, 25, of village Santosh and Md Nabir Ali, 45, of village Nalua under Shahjadpur police station of Sirajganj district and Md Azizul Haque, 35, of village Anontapur under Phulbari police station of Kurigram district. 
  
After filing a case against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, the elite force handed over them along with the seized drugs to Chilmari police station of Kurigram district, the release added.
