One held with foreign pistol, magazine, bullets in Keraniganj

RANGPUR, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a joint drive arrested one person with a foreign pistol, a magazine and two rounds of bullets from the Kaliganj Khejurbagh Graveyard (Khalpar) area under South Keraniganj police station in Dhaka district on Sunday afternoon.

On a tip off, a joint team of RAB-13's CPC-2 from Nilphamari Camp and RAB-10's CPSC from Lalbagh Camp in Dhaka raided the area and seized the illegal arms and ammunition and arrested the man there at 1:15 pm, a press release said here today.

The arrestee is Md Tuhin Mia, 32, son of Md Bacher Molla of village Housing Notun Colony under Khalishpur police station of Khulna district.

The arrested person was carrying out terrorist activities in various parts of the country including Dhaka for a long time. 

The release further said that after filing a case against the arrested person under the Arms Act of 1878, the elite force handed him over to the South Keraniganj police Station in Dhaka district along with the seized arms and ammunition for further legal action.
