DHAKA, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today sent three accused to jail in a case filed over the murder of Inqilab Mancho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

The accused are Civion Dew, Sanjay Chisim and Foysal.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jamsed Alam passed the order after police produced the trio before the court following the end of their three-day remand and pleaded to keep them behind bars until completion of the investigation.

Earlier, the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam on December 30 placed them on a three-day remand each.

Of the three, Civion Dew and Sanjay Chisim allegedly helped prime accused Foysal Karim Masud and his accomplice flee to India.

Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate from Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Mancho, was shot on December 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.

According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene. Inqilab Mancho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on December 20 ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case originally filed over the attempted killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, turning it into a murder case following his death on December 18.
