SYLHET, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS)- Two people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a road accident at Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet district early today.

The deceased were identified as M Mujibur Rahman, 55, son of Hazrat Ali of Naria upazila in Shariatpur district and Kulor Bidash, 28, son of Moynar Bidash of Osmaninagar upazila in Sylhet.

The accident occurred around 7:00 am at Dayamir area on the Sylhet–Dhaka highway when a Sylhet-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-B-14-4286) collided head-on with a bus of Ena Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-B-12-3560) coming from the opposite direction.

Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station under Moulvibazar district Mohammad Habibur Rahman told BSS that the deceased persons were identified as a supervisor and a helper  of Shyamoli Paribahan.

Fire Service personnel with the help of local people rescued the injured and rushed them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
