Jamaat's Anwarul from Dinajpur-6 greets winner Dr. Zahid

DINAJPUR, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS) - Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md. Anwarul Islam 
has congratulated BNP leader Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain after he was elected as 
Member of Parliament (MP) from Dinajpur-6 constituency.

The cordial exchange took place Friday night in the municipal area of 
Birampur upazila under Dinajpur-6, where the winning and losing candidates 
met following the conclusion of the election.

Md. Anwarul Islam, who contested the seat as a Jamaat-e-Islami candidate, 
presented a bouquet of flowers to Dr. Zahid and extended his best wishes on 
his victory.

Speaking to BSS, Dr. Zahid said the election is over, now the focus would 
shift to the constituency's development and public welfare.

"The election is over - now we will work for the development of the area. Our 
main goal will be to work for the welfare of the people with mutual 
cooperation. We will not disagree with any party when it comes to the 
development of the people of this area," he said.

He added that residents of the four upazilas under Dinajpur-6 would witness 
visible development in the coming days.

Dr. Zahid also called on all political parties and local leaders to cooperate 
in fulfilling the long-standing hopes and aspirations of the people through 
tangible development initiatives.

During the meeting, both leaders expressed optimism about working together 
for peace, harmony and the overall development of the constituency despite 
their political differences.
