Pedestrian killed in Panchagarh road accident

PANCHAGARH, Feb 16, 2026 (BSS) - A pedestrian was killed and a motorcyclist injured in a road accident in Tentulia upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sohel Rana, 35, son of Samad, a resident of the Daulatpara area under Tirnoihat union of the upazila. 

The accident occurred on the Tentulia–Banglabandha highway when a motorcycle travelling from Banglabandha towards Tentulia struck Sohel as he was crossing the road. He was thrown onto the highway and died on the spot.

The motorcyclist, Alamgir Hossain, 25, sustained injuries in the collision. Locals rushed him to the Tentulia Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-Charge of Tentulia Highway Police Station Debashish Roy confirmed the matter.
