MANIKGANJ, Feb 19, 2026 (BSS) - Four persons of a family including parents were consumed by fire last evening at the village Mitora under Manikganj Sadar Upazila in the district.

Police and locals said the drug addicted son of Shamsul Biswas demanded to his father to give money for buying a private car. But the father denied to give him demanded money. The addicted son tried to kill himself abbuzing with fire last evening.

 All the family members tried to safe him, but all of them were injured seriously with burn injuries.

The injured are Shamsul Biswas,65, Sadiara Begum,55, Masum Biswas, 35 and Jonny Biswas,25.

All the four injured were rushed to the Manikganj 250 bed hospital 

Later all of them were transferred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Plastic Burn Unit as their condition were deteriorated.
