MoWCA minister and state minister exchange views with officials

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2026 (BSS)- Women and Children Affairs Minister Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain and State Minister Farzana Sharmin have exchanged views with the ministry officials at ministry’s conference room here today.

“We have to work going beyond the traditional way as we have a commitment to the women and children described in our election manifesto”, MoWCA minister told the meeting.

The minister said even there might be required to bring some changes to the existing policies, but all these things depends on the ministry’s capacity to implement the government budgetary allocation. 

The ministry will have to go forward through team work aimed at materializing the mandate given by the peoples to BNP, he said.

The minister suggested to take initiative to establish an international standard DNA laboratory and gave assurance of giving necessary assistance in this regard.

State minister Farzana Sharmin said appropriate and effective plans would be taken for development of women and children which consist two-third population of the country.

She expressed hope to make the ministry as an effective body of the government to work for the development of the women and children.

The ministry officials and the heads of different agencies under the ministry including senior secretary of the ministry Mamtaz Ahmed were present.

A documentary on the activities and ongoing projects of the ministry were presented during the meeting.
