Milk, eggs, beef being sold at fair prices in Bogura

BOGURA, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - Responding to the call of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, milk, eggs and beef are being sold at lower prices than the market in Gabtoli here.

Under the auspices of the Upazila Livestock Department, this program was launched at 11 am today at the central Eidgah Field premises of ??Ward No. 3 of Gabtoli Municipality.

In collaboration with Saima Agro Farm with the initiative of former mayor of Gabtoli Municipality Saiful Islam, the sale program is being carried out here during the holy month of Ramdan.

Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Rashedul Islam, Bogura district BNP leader, former mayor Saiful Islam, local BNP leader Tariqul Islam, lecturers - Hamidul Islam Shilu, Tajul Islam, Anwar Hossain and Daulatzaman Dipu, and local dignitaries were present at the inaugural function.

The authorities concerned are providing milk, eggs and beef to the common people at a fair prices as 150 liters of milk at taka 50 per kg, more than 500 eggs at Tk 30 per hali (four pieces) and beef at Tk 650 per kg are being sold at different wards of the municipality every day.

Starting from today this sale program would continue in all the wards of the municipality in phases during the holy month of Ramadan.
Talking to the BSS, Gabtoli Upazila Livestock Officer said such an initiative by former Mayor Saiful Islam is really commendable.
Through this program, low-income people will be able to get milk, eggs and meat at low prices so that they can eat with satisfaction and observe the fasting program, he added.
