MUNSHIGANJ, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - The government has begun selling milk, eggs and poultry at subsidised rates here in the district today for the holy month of Ramadan.

DC Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi inaugurated the initiative, jointly undertaken by the district administration and the livestock department.

Local Government Division Deputy Director Moushumi Mahbub, District Livestock Officer M A Jalil and other senior district officials, among others, were present.

Under the initiative, milk are being sold at Tk 80 per litre and eggs at Tk 100 per dozen to help ensure nutrition for low-income people during Ramadan. Poultry and other essentials will also be available at designated points at prices lower than prevailing market rates.
