
CHANDPUR, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court on Tuesday fined three business establishments a total of Taka 22,000 for various irregularities during a joint drive in Chandpur district headquarters.
The drive was conducted at Puran Bazar, a key commercial hub of Chandpur town, by the district administration in collaboration with the National Consumer Rights Protection Department.
Executive Magistrate Tanvir Rabbi of the Deputy Commissioner's Office led the operation. Abdullah Al Imran, Assistant Director of the District Office of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, along with members of law enforcement agencies, was present during the drive.
During the drive, the owner of Ajmeri Lachcha Semai factory was fined Taka 10,000 for under-pricing. M/s Sahadev Chandra Saha was fined Taka 2,000 for failing to update its price list.
In a separate case, the owner of Janata Food Products was fined Taka 10,000 for illegally using another company's flour sacks and for selling food products without mentioning production and expiration dates.
Assistant Director Abdullah Al Imran said such drives would continue to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws and to safeguard consumers' interests.
