RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) of Rangpur arrested two persons with 37.1 kg of smuggled ganja, 658 CFT stones, two Android mobile phones and a truck from Shibganj area in Bogura today. 

On a tip off, a joint team of Rangpur and Bogura DNCs chased a truck bound for Bogra from Rangpur and conducted a search in Shibganj of Shibganj police station in Bogura, seized drugs and other goods and arrested the two people at 1:30 pm.

"The arrestees are Md Lipu Mia, 32, son of Bachchu Mia and Md Bayezid Bostami, 19, son of Md Nur Uddin, both of village Kashiram under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat," Deputy Director of the Rangpur DNC Md Abu Jafar told BSS tonight.

Rangpur DNC Deputy Director Md Abu Jafar, who led the operation, handed over the arrested persons, seized drugs and other goods to the Shibganj police station in Bogura after filing a case in this incident tonight.
