PM holds first office at AFD

DHAKA, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today attended his office at the Armed Forces Division (AFD) in Dhaka Cantonment for the first time.

"Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment at 9:00 am as the chiefs of the three services welcomed him," said PM's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

The premier exchanged pleasantries with the chiefs of the three services before joining his scheduled engagements.

As part of the day's programme, Tarique Rahman adorned Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman and Major General Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury with their new rank badges at his office.

 

Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Defence Secretary Md Ashraf Uddin and Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman and Private Secretary-2 Md Mehedul Islam were present on the occasion.
